
Boyce Connell
1990-01-15Mr. H. Boyce Connell Jr., health-care attorney and partner at Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy, died of cancer Monday at Northside Hospital. He was 46.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church if Atlanta. The body will be cremated
In addition to serving as general counsel for Northside Hospital, Mr. Connell was a past president of the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and a former executive editor of the Georgia Law Review.
Howard Boyce Connell Jr. was born Jan. 25th 1943, in Atlanta, the son of Howard B. and Ruth Connell. He was a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Georgia School of Law.
He was a member of the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta and American Bar Associations. He served on the board of directors of the Hospice of the South and was an elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Ellen Robinson Connell; a son, Howard B. Connell III of Atlanta; a daughter, Ashley Connell of Atlanta; a brother Douglas Connell of Atlanta; and two sisters, Clare Connell of Athens and Catherine C. Dykes of Durham, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, 3003 Howell Mill Road N.W., Atlanta, Ga 30327.
Boyce was a true leader all through high school. I remember going to his house to plan our first reunion. Since, he was our class president, he took that responsiblity seriously. We had a great time while planning for it.Such a gentleman and happy guy who worked hard to do his best.Wish he was here for this reunion.
