Patricia Hart “Patti” Witmer, 72, of Lake of the Woods passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015.

Patti was born on Feb. 4, 1943, to Charles Edgar and Hazel Hartman Hart in Salisbury, N.C. She received an associate’s degree from Brevard College in Brevard, N.C. Patti had lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1967. She married David B. Witmer IV in April of 2001 at Lake of the Woods. After retiring from Davenport and Company, Fredericksburg, she loved to travel, enjoyed nature and art and was an avid photographer.

Survivors include her husband, David; daughter Amy (James) Doyle; stepson David B (Rita) Witmer; stepdaughter Sherry (Matthew) Halphen; brother Bruce (Sue) Hart; and grandchildren Megan Morgan Scott-Ackerman, Brandon, Christopher and Jamie Tignor, Stephen and Brandon Halphen and David B. Witmer V.
