Catching up...





After graduation, I attended the University of Georgia where I graduated with an A.B. degree in English.  I married and began teaching high school, but decided I would rather teach elementary. 





This required additional courses which I took at Georgia State.  We raised 2 wonderful daughters, Karyn and Ashley, both of whom are now happily married and successful as both moms and career women.  





My first marriage ended in divorce, but God brought John into my life and we have been married for 18 years now. Those 6 children mentioned above...4 of them are his!  Being a captain for Delta airlines, he could live anywhere, so in 1994 we decided to move to the mountains of Tennessee to enjoy the fresh air and beauty.  While there, I obtained my M.Ed degree from ETSU with an emphasis on reading and story arts. ( For several years, I performed as a storyteller, but have decided that is too much work and hinders travel opportunities.)  We lived in the Johnson City area for 11 years, moving back to Atlanta in 2005 when Ashley and her husband started their family.  We felt it important for the children to have local grandparents...but the blessing has been all ours!  We love to travel and recently have discovered the fun of cruising although we swore we would never do it until we tried it!





We flee the cold winters (right after Christmas) to our home on Hutchinson Island, Florida, returning on May 1.  (Hutchinson Island runs from Vero Beach on the north to Jupiter on the south.)  We LOVE to have friends and family come to visit us...just let us know you're coming so we have a room for you!
